6. Mama Had a Baby

There is a spooky linguistic phrase uttered by children when they pick dandelions, about “mama,” how she “had a baby and its head popped off.” Then they pop the flower front the stem of the plant. This piece depicting a head growing the white seed pods that follow the yellow flower’s bloom seems to have evaded the head popping. Maybe that’s the story. Maybe it’s just cool.
