Dive the Great Barrier Reef–Coast of Northern Australia
There is no easy way to put this. The Great Barrier Reef is dying, albeit slowly, but the future for the coral looks grim. If this adventure rings your bell, slide it up on your timeline. You may be one of the last people to see the coral in all its splendor. If you want to do more than snorkel, you’ll need to get your Scuba certification, and that will come with additional costs. Plan ahead. Get that certification months before you go, and get in a real dive somewhere mellow so you don’t waste your first open water dive dealing with first dive anxiety. With a good dive master, you can hit the ideal parts of the reef with little risk to your safety.
