The movie was so successful, producers wanted to make a sequel, but Hanks wasn’t interested. That didn’t stop them from making money off the brand. One can find Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurants around the world, offering diners a characteristic experience immersing them in the fictional world of the movie. Also, the author of the book that inspired the movie wrote a follow-up book, “Gump & Co,” about the residual business from the film. It is, after all, show-business.
