More Story-Telling Street Art Designed to Make You Think

23. Leave Those Kids Alone

On a wall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a depiction of violence begs your mind to hum a few bars of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall.” The bus appears to be part of the piece, cut in half, and attached to the wall. If not, one can understand the allure to a street artist to make it something more. Either way, these kids are not going to school today. Tomorrow doesn’t look so good either.

22. Spiderman Wake Up

For the casual street art observer, these sorts of pieces are the best. One may pass a tiny contribution endlessly before realizing there’s been something special there the whole time. The story seems to be about Spiderman making his rounds, but the real story is how many people never notice his deeds. Most people are so in their heads, they’re barely in the present moment. That moment they notice Spiderman is the moment they peel open their eyes to join the present moment, and start searching for more art.

21. Precious

Before this larger-than-life Smiegal peered out of his cave, this wall appears to have been part of some building that once was. Whatever it was, it has burned down, leaving only the concrete walls and some burned out beams hanging from above. The destruction left rubble on the ground, making for a three-dimensional effect with the art. Smiegal seems to have emerged from the blue recesses of a cave, unsure if it’s safe to leave his fantasy world.
