Let’s talk about that word, heli-skiing. Don’t confuse it with hella-skiing, the sort of skiing someone from San Francisco would talk about. In heli-skiing, one rides a helicopter in order to access parts a mountain where there are no ski lifts. Pioneered about four decades ago, adventure outfits have standardized the experience to the point where a competent skier can go to town, provided that skier has the cash. Heli-skiing isn’t cheap. Also, these aren’t green circle or even double-black diamond hills. These are youbettabegood level hills. Yes, snowboarders are welcome. Pack a lunch and some rescue equipment just in case.
