Let’s get this out right away: Dubai is a crazy confluence of forces. It has the tallest building in the world. In fact, it’s iconic for its skyscrapers. For some, that would be enough to put in the number one spot. The city also has fountains that would make Vegas cower in shame. They’ve built clusters of human-made islands off the coast in the shape of palm trees, another cluster in the shape of Earth. Dubai is home to one of the world’s largest shopping centers too, which houses an indoor skiing facility. This isn’t Vegas, though. They allow drinking in Dubai, but only in certain, designated hotel restaurants. Public drunkness is not tolerated. Noether is kissing in certain places. One can’t escape the police either because they drive supercars. Oh, nothing… only Bugattis, BMWs, and Lamborghinis.
