Bucket List Vacation Destinations You Have To See Now While They Are Still Awesome

New Orleans, Louisiana

When most people talk about New Orleans, they mean the historic French Quarter. That’s the part of New Orleans chosen for its high position on the land by early settlers. They knew that the ocean could rise, as it did when Katrina hit in 2005. The larger part of New Orleans suffered, but the French Quarter remained high and dry with its history preserved. No city in the United States captures the Spanish Creole architectural style of the French Quarter. Nobody can do food they way they do in New Orleans. Nobody does jazz they way they do in New Orleans. You could visit during Mardi Gras, which is a non-stop party, but everyone knows it’s always party time in New Orleans.
