Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
In northern Tanzania, there are 5,700 square miles of a game park. If you don’t know Tanzania, it’s in East Africa, from where some of our oldest human fossils come. It’s also where some of the wildest creatures still roam free. [Think: Lion King] There are 1.5-million white-bearded wildebeest. Yes, that’s the correct spelling. Oh yeah, and zebras, crocodiles, lions, elephants, rhinos, giraffe, shall I go on? It’s like your own open-air zoo. The key with Tanzania is getting there. Of course, you have to have a passport, one that is valid for six months after your trip. Unlike traveling to places like Mexico, you’ll need a Tanzanian visa too. Get it before you go to travel easy. You may also wish to update your vaccines before you go, but it’s not required for entry. Then, find yourself a reputable guide and dust off your khaki pants. You’re gonna see the real lion king.
