25 Inspiring Tales of Real-Life Bravery

14. The Teens Who Stopped a Carjacking

Roy Madril Jr. and Chris Martinez were just two teens filling up their car at a local gas station in Tuscon, Arizona, minding their own business. That was when they heard a woman screaming: “He has my kids! He’s stealing my car!”

The woman was a 27-year-old mother of a six-year-old and a two-year-old. A man had pushed her out of her car and drove off, and Madril and Martinez wasted no time in taking action. They pursued the carjacker themselves and called 911. Thanks to them, the police were able to apprehend the carjacker and save the kidnapped children.

After the event, the mayor of Tuscon and the Red Cross honored the two teens with a “Real Hero Award”.
