Man Rescues & Releases Market Turtles
A man in New Zealand, Arron Culling, makes a habit out of buying protected turtles from the local food market. He doesn’t eat them. After spending $30-something on their lives, he takes them back to the ocean and releases them. This picture appeared on his Facebook page. “Found these at the local market, got them for 50 bucks (New Zealand),” he said, “drove 5 km up the road and let them go.” According to Culling, he and a buddy had done this eight times or so. That was back in 2015. Who knows what is his tally today?
