The Cyclist Who Stopped to Hydrate a Koala
Koalas get most of the water they need from their diet, eucalyptus leaves, which are full of water. Then, in early 2009, a heat wave pounded Australia for a prolonged period of time. Koalas everywhere emerged from their normal hiding places to drink from pools and ask for help. This is one of many pictures that popped up on the Internets at the time, not the only one featuring cyclists, where a human stopped to help.
