Different Bubba
Jus like the role of Forrest, the actor who played Bubba, Mykelti Williamson, was not the first actor offered the part. Producers pitched Ice Cube, David Chappelle, and David Allen Grier. Grier passed. Cube wasn’t interested in playing someone with a disability, and Chappelle assumed the movie couldn’t outperform his other masterful films. He would later regret that decision.
