10 True Stories That Will Restore Your Faith in Humanity

3. A Much-Needed Vacation

You wouldn’t think a bunch of children on a school bus could bully a sixty-nine year-old woman to tears, but that’s exactly what happened. The bullies actually posted an unsettling 10-minute-long video of them verbally abusing Karen Klein, their bus monitor, to the point of tears. They were intending to gloat, but the video went viral online and the backlash was stupendous.

One kind-hearted stranger wasn’t having it. They decided to create an Indiegogo campaign with a goal to raise $5000 so they could fund a vacation for Karen Klein. With a little advertising, the campaign skyrocketed and reached over $700,000 in donations. The internet was so outraged that they just kept giving, hoping to make up for this one moment of pain in Karen’s life.

Well, it worked. It worked so well, in fact, that Karen was able to comfortably retire to escape the bullies on the bus. She ended up launching her own anti-bullying foundation – which just goes to show that when a little kindness is shown, people usually pay it forward.

Be kind, always.
