11. Shakira
There is a good reason President Obama appointed Shakira to the President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics in 2011. It has nothing to do with her singing skills. She’s been an outspoken advocate and a philanthropist for education for years. One of her recent projects was to build a new school in Barranquilla, Colombia. Her hips may not lie, but she’s also putting her money where her mouth is, so to speak.
