7. Cascade Falls—Hot Springs, South Dakota
Skipped by the first railway when it made its way west, Cascade Creek has remained a quiet place for a long time. The falls are the best place along the creek to take a dip. The water feeder from the springs keeps the water warm and allows for some unique plants to grow that one can’t find elsewhere in South Dakota. The springs are a few miles south of the town of Hot Springs. Ironically, one cannot swim in the actual springs, but the water in the creek is so nice, most don’t mind.
