Watch 65,000 Green Day Fans Immortalize Freddie Mercury Before a Concert

As one YouTube commenter said, “This is what immortality looks like.”

It’s pretty amazing when Queen can rock a concert stage without even being there. This week, the band Green Day posted a video of a crowd at one of their concerts belting out Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

The event took place at Hyde Park in London, England, over the holiday weekend. A huge crowd of 65,000 British fans had gathered for a Green Day concert under a clouded sky. While the crowd as waiting for the band to take the stage, the crowd belted out “Bohemian Rhapsody” in almost perfect unison, including the guitar solo.

It’s not uncommon for a stadium to play music while a band is setting up for a concert. Nobody expected for this to happen, though. Green Day was admirably cool about Queen upstaging their concert before they even got a chance to take the stage.

Like Freddie Mercury said, he didn’t want to be a rock star. He wanted to be a legend.

You got your wish, Freddie. This is definitely was immortality looks like.

Watch the stunning performance below. It actually sounds pretty amazing. Trust me, it’ll give you chills. This is one video you won’t want to miss.
