Jaqueline Kiplimo Forfeits a Win
When Jaqueline Kiplimo, an elite Kenyan marathoner, saw an athlete with no arms struggling without water, she did the right thing. It was during the 2010 Zhengkai International Marathon in China. She let go of her need to win the race, then cashed in on her need to create another win, one for the human race. The young man could not grab onto a water bottle so Kiplimo made sure to hydrate him. For her efforts, she gave up the number one slot at the finish line, taking second place, but took a special place in our hearts.
